SAIL
The contest “ Win your Elite Series by Pelican kayak purchase at SAIL ” is held by Pelican International Inc. (hereafter: contest's organizers), to promote its 40th anniversary. The contest will take place at SAIL’s branches in Laval and Beloeil on May 7th to May 11th 2008 (hereafter: contest's period).
Eligibility
This contest is open to all people of eighteen (18) years of age and older residing in Quebec with the exception of the contest's organizer’s employees, agents and representatives; those of their affiliated companies, Pelican International Inc. and SAIL, their advertising and promotional agencies, suppliers of materials and services used for the contest, any other party directly linked to this contest; and any member of their immediate family (brothers, sisters, children, father, mother), their legal or common-law spouses and individuals with whom such employees, agents and representatives are domiciled.
How to enter
Visit your SAIL branch in Laval or Beloeil during the 40th anniversary sales event of Pelican International Inc. that will take place on May 7th to May 11th 2008.
During your visit, buy an Elite Series by Pelican kayak. Once you have completed your purchase, a staff member will give you a participation coupon.
Fill out the participation coupon writing down your name, complete address including zip code, phone number, age, name of the store where the purchase was made, email address and the correct answer to the mathematical ability question appearing on the coupon. Place your coupon in the designated box before May 11th 2008 at 4pm in the branch of your choice,
in Laval or Beloeil.
Facsimiles of participation coupon are not accepted.
No purchase necessary. You may enter the contest by mailing, in a sufficiently stamped envelope, your name, complete address and phone number, your age and your email address along with an original handwritten letter of at least 50 words explaining why you like kayaks and naming one of our new Elite Series kayak model. You also need to mention in which branch you would like to participate (SAIL Laval or SAIL Beloeil). The letter must be received
no later than May 11th 2008 at 4:00pm at the following address:
1000 Place Paul-Kane, Laval, (Qc) H7C 2T2.
Limit of one entry per branch, per person per envelope.
Prize
One prize is offered for each of the two (2) SAIL branches, consequently, two (2) prizes will be given away for the whole contest. Each prize consists of giving a credit of $349.99 to $1 199.99 depending on the kayak previously purchased by the winner of each branch.
The following restrictions apply to the prize:
a) The credit is applicable on the sale price before taxes of an Elite Series by Pelican kayak bought at one of the two participating merchants or, in the case of a no purchase participation, on the suggested retail price of a Pelican kayak bought in a one year deadline, at one of the
two participating merchants, starting when the person is proclaimed the winner;
b) The credit must be used in one unique occasion.
c) The credit can’t be traded for cash, except for the following;
d) If the winner has already paid to the participating merchant the whole amount for his product, a check for the same amount of money that his purchase will be given to him.
There is a limit of one prize per person.
Draw
Laval branch: the draw will take place on May 11th 2008 at 4:30pm at the SAIL store of Laval (2850 Ave. Jacques-Bureau, H7P 6B3) with the territory manager, the salesperson or the marketing coordinator of Pelican International Inc. The winner will be established after the random draw of one (1) valid participation coupon among all entries received for the Laval branch.
Beloeil branch: the draw will take place on May 11th 2008 at 4:30pm at the SAIL store of Beloeil (1085 boul. de l’Industrie, J3G 4S5) with the territory manager, the salesperson or
the marketing coordinator of Pelican International Inc. The winner will be established after
the random draw of one (1) valid participation coupon among all entries received for the
Beloeil branch.Odds of winning the prize in a branch depends on the number of entries registered there in compliance with the contest's rules during the contest's period.
How to claim the prize
Once selected for the prize, the entrant must:
a) be available to be reached by telephone within fifteen (15) days of the draw. Any selected entrant who cannot be contacted after appropriate and reasonable measures have been taken by the contest's organizers during that fifteen (15) day period will be declared ineligible to receive his/her prize and another draw will be held to award the prize.
b) correctly answer, the mathematical skill-testing question appearing on the participation coupon or, in the case of a no purchase necessary participation, correctly answer unaided,
a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be asked by telephone at a prearranged time.
Sign the declaration and liability waiver form. This declaration
form shall be sent by mail and must be returned to the contest organizers within
fifteen (15) days of reception.
If the selected entrant is found to be in violation of one of the aforementioned conditions or any conditions stipulated in the present contest's rules, he/she will be disqualified and a new draw will be held until a winner is declared.
General rules
All entry forms will be subject to verification by the contest's organizers or their
representatives. Any entry that is fraudulent, reproduced by hand or by any other means
whatsoever, illegible, incomplete, or otherwise not in compliance with the contest's rules
will be automatically rejected and will not be eligible to win a prize.
The contest's organizers reserve the right to make all verification deemed useful before
awarding the prize. If the person drawn is not eligible or entered this contest by any means
contrary to these contest's rules or which would be unfair to the other entrants (e.g. entries
exceeding the permitted limit), this person will be disqualified and may have to answer
before the relevant legal authority.
The contest's organizers are not responsible for entry forms or participation letters
without purchase that have been misdirected or sent in late by entrants.
Prize must be accepted as described in the present Rules and cannot be transferred to
another person, substituted for another prize or exchanged totally or in part for its cash
value, subject to the provisions in the following paragraph.
In the event that the contest's organizers be unable to award the prize as described in these
Rules, for reasons unrelated to the winner, they reserve the right to award a similar prize
of equal value or, at their sole discretion, the value of the prize indicated in these contest's
rules in cash.
The winner releases the contest's organizers, their affiliates, advertising and promotional
agencies, employees, agents and representatives from any and all liability for any damages
he/she may suffer as a result of his/her participation in the contest, whether or not in
compliance with the contest's rules, as well as those resulting from the acceptance or use
of his/her prize.
Prior to obtaining his/her prize, the winner agrees to sign a declaration and liability waiver form to this effect. By participating in this contest, the winner authorizes the contest's organizers and their representatives to use, if required, his/her name, photograph, image, place of residence,
voice and/or declaration regarding the prize for advertising purposes, without any
compensation.
All decisions made by the contest's organizers or those of their representatives regarding this
contest are final and binding, subject, for the residents of Quebec, to any decision of the
Régie des Alcools, des Courses et des Jeux du Québec in relation to matters under its
jurisdiction.
For people residing in Quebec, any litigation respecting the organisation or conduct of a
publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des Alcools, des Courses et des Jeux for a
ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie for
the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
For the purposes of these contest's rules, the entrant is the person whose name appears on
the account statement or on the letter of participation without purchase. It is this person
to whom the prize will be awarded if he/she is declared a winner, subject to the provisions
in the following paragraph.
In the event of any discrepancy between the French and English versions of the contest's
rules, the French version will prevail. |
